Pew Bodies
When you choose Kivett’s you are choosing authenticity and craftsmanship. All furniture is fabricated in our Clinton, NC factory. We have some of the best craftsman in the field.
When it is time to install your seating, all fixed elements shall be installed by or under the direct supervision of Kivett’s factory representatives. All finish work shall be completed and the carpet installed before installation of church pews or furniture. Pews shall all be fastened to the floor.
We offer 4 different body styles all created with some of the most versatile raw materials available. We start with Northern Appalachian Red Oak wood for the back. 100 Body Style
MATERIAL: All material shall be red oak unless other materials are specified. All lumber members shall be ripped from plain sawn boards when applicable. All lumber to be air-dried to moisture content of 20%. The stock shall then be kiln dried to moisture content of 6% to 8%. The assembled stock shall be free of large knots and major blemishes. Pin knots and other character forming marks shall be permitted.
PEW BODY: The pew body shall be Kivett Body #100. The seat shall be 5/4” contoured solid oak. The back shall be of 4/4” solid oak. The back will have standard incline, flat and shall be finished on the top edge with a solid member, backed upon the underside with a solid hardwood mold. The molded members shall be machined, glued and mechanically fastened. The pew body will be continuous up to 12 feet. Pew bodies over 12 feet will be center or offset jointed.
200 Body Style
Solid Northern Appalachian Red Oak straight inclined back.
Cushioned upholstered seat built on a hardwood-boxed frame.

The back will have standard incline, flat and shall be finished on the top edge with a solid member, backed upon the underside with a solid hardwood mold. The molded members shall be machined, glued and mechanically fastened. The pew body will be continuous up to 12 feet. Pew bodies over 12 feet will be center or offset jointed.

300 Body Style

PEW BODY: The pew body shall be Kivett Body #300. The seat shall be fully upholstered utilizing Kivett box frame construction. The back shall be fully upholstered with fabric of choice, using 1” polyfoam bonded to the back with adhesive. The back shall be finished on the top edge with a solid oak cap rail, blind fastened with tongue and groove design.
400 Body Style
